Adventurers' Guild#
| Name | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lara | Guild staff | Directed the party during orientation (Session 2); distinct from Talia |
| Talia | Guild receptionist | On duty Session 3 (sewer turn-in); likely also the Session 1/2 signup receptionist |
| Kael Riven | Vice Guild Master | Runs the guild basement training arena; has sparred the party twice |
Harkin#
Runs the monster parts warehouse immediately next to the Adventurers' Guild. Friendly to guild members. Known buy prices:
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Giant rat tail | 1 gp each |
| Regular rat tail | 5 sp each |
| Boar tusks + hides (bulk) | 40 gp (26 tusks + 10 hides) |
| Goblin ears | Not purchased |
Kael Riven#
Vice Guild Master and the party's combat instructor. Kael oversees rank advancement and runs training bouts in the guild basement. He has invited the party to spar twice — once around their signup (unrecorded) and again after the boar quest (Session 6). He is notably capable in a fight — the party has yet to keep him standing.
He has offered pointers after each bout and noted genuine improvement in Session 6. In Session 8, the party handed him a live goblin captured near Ardeep Forest for interrogation about what drove the goblins from their former territory.
Lara#
Guild staff member who directed the party during their orientation in Session 2. She sent them to the bar for coffee and pointed them toward the quest board. Distinct from Talia.
Talia#
Guild receptionist on duty in Session 3 when the party turned in the Sewer Job and collected their reward. Described as "the one you talked to the previous day," suggesting she may also have handled the party's initial signup in Sessions 1–2.
Merchants#
| Name | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Harkin | Monster parts merchant | Dwarf with a braided beard; warehouse next to the guild; does not buy goblin parts |
| Garrick Thornwick | Merchant / retired adventurer | Co-owner of Thornwick Imports and Fine Textiles; gave party advice on knowing when to retreat |
| Maribel Thornwick | Merchant | Garrick's wife; co-owner of Thornwick Imports; hired guild to find Pumpkin |
Garrick Thornwick#
Retired adventurer, now co-owner of Thornwick Imports and Fine Textiles in the merchant district, alongside his wife Maribel. In his 40s–50s, experienced enough that he didn't bat an eye at the party's appearance. Hired the Adventurers' Guild to find his wife's missing cat, Pumpkin.
As the party left, he offered advice born from experience: don't overextend, know when to retreat, and understand that there's no shame in coming back alive. He offered his help if the party ever needs anything "in that department."
Maribel Thornwick#
Garrick's wife and co-owner of Thornwick Imports and Fine Textiles. Visibly relieved when Pumpkin was returned. Offered the party their services at the shop.
Other#
| Name | Role | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Unnamed farmers | Local farmhands | Assisted in the boar hunt (Sessions 4-5); two knocked unconscious |
| Pumpkin | Cat | Large orange tabby; belongs to the Thornwicks; habitual wanderer |
Pumpkin#
Large orange tabby cat belonging to Garrick and Maribel Thornwick. Has a habit of exploring the city on his own — not for any specific reason, just exploring. Known to the street cats in the alleys near the merchant district. Frequents the bakery area to eat pastry scraps. Returned to his owners by the party in Session 7.
