Summary#

After collecting the boar contract reward (65 gp) and selling loot to Harkin (40 gp), the party reviewed the quest board. Two options were available: a missing cat and a goblin hunt. Before they could decide, Vice Guild Master Kael Riven invited them down to the guild basement for a training bout.

Bjorn — ever resourceful — used Speak with Animals to send his bird to scout town for the missing cat while they fought, handling two tasks at once.

The spar was three-on-one. Fenrir went first among the PCs (Kael had overall initiative at 22). Bjorn cast Sanctuary on himself, but Kael made both Wisdom saves (22 and 24) and dealt 5 damage through it — Bjorn went down first. Melech concentrated on Witch's Bolt, dealing 6 lightning, but failed his concentration save after taking a hit (rolled 4, needed 10) and went down to the follow-up. Fenrir took two hits of 3 damage each (6 total); whether he was knocked down is not clearly recorded.

The party dealt 59 total damage to Kael — a marked improvement over their first bout. Kael offered individual combat notes afterward. At the end of the session, the party leveled up to Level 2.
